3/13/16: Join Junior Auxiliary in Raising Funds at their "Rock Around the Clock" Trivia Community Challenge

Put on your poodle skirts, bobby socks, pedal pushers and Thunderbird jackets and join the Junior Auxiliary of Taney County (JATC) at their 16th Annual Trivia Community Challenge fundraiser.  This year's theme will be Rock Around the Clock and guests are encouraged to dress “the part” for this wonderful evening.  The event will be held Saturday, April 2nd, 2016 at the Radisson Hotel Branson, 120 Wildwood Drive S, Branson, MO 65616.

The evening emcees will be Matt Muhoberoc and Amber Campbell from Branson’s show “#1 Hits of the 60’s & 50’s Too”.  Doors will open at 5:30pm for guests to enjoy a fabulous dinner, bid on the many great items in the silent auction, purchase raffle tickets and a Wine Pull and of course, the main event – a trivia challenge. Tables of eight will compete in eight different interesting categories of ten questions each.  Guests will also be entertained by the Branson High School Jazz Band through dinner, starting at 6:00pm until Trivia begins at 7:00pm.

Tickets are $60 per person or $480 for a table of 8.  Individual attendees will be placed at a table with other players for the trivia challenge. The deadline for team or individual registration is March 18th in order to confirm dinner reservations.  Space is limited and the event has sold out the past two years.

Generous local and national businesses donated raffle prizes and silent auction items.  Raffle Tickets are $20.00 each with FOUR chances to win. Only 400 raffle tickets will be sold for the chance to win (1) $500.00 in cash; or (2) Two-night stay at Falls Lodge at Big Cedar + $200.00 Big Cedar Gift Card; or (3) Two-night stay at Chateau On the Lake + $200.00 Chateau Gift Card or (4) All Day Pontoon rental at State Park Marina + $200.00 State Park Marina Gift Card.  Cash and gift card prizes were from Doug Baker State Farm Insurance donations.

Silent auction items include $2500 certificate for Opie’s Landscaping & Maintenance, 6 month family membership at Cox Fitness Center of Branson, 4 hour Pontoon rental from Rock Lane Marina and Lilley’s Landing, 4 One Day Hopper Passes at Walt Disney, $500 certificate from Holiday Planners, golf at Branson Hills Golf Course and Point Royale Golf Club, Cardinal tickets, Downstream Casino stay, tennis lessons, and certificates for many of the wonderful shows, restaurants, attractions and entertainment centers in Branson and Springfield.

This fun-filled evening is the major fundraiser for JATC.  The funds raised through this event are 100% reinvested in our community, supporting a variety of projects aimed at addressing the needs of children and families, including School Supplies; Tender Critters; Santa’s Gift House; College Readiness; ScholarCare; Prom Dresses for girls in need; support for the Women’s Crisis Center; Heart of Arts, supporting adults with disabilities at Developmental Connections; and Book Swap/Homework Helpers, where children in extended-stay motels receive which snacks, enrichment programs, reading and homework help.

JATC is more than a nonprofit organization, it’s a group of women united by a single cause and dedicated to helping the children of Taney County.  That’s the magic of JATC.  It was chartered by a group of caring, enthusiastic women in 1998 and continues to grow and thrive throughout Taney County.  Approximately 50 members annually contribute more than 4,000 volunteer hours as they strive to improve the mental, physical, social and emotional well-being of children in Taney County.

JATC is part of the National Association of Junior Auxiliaries (NAJA), a non-profit organization founded in 1941 with headquarters in Greenville, Mississippi.  NAJA has more than 15,500 active, associate and life members in 98 chapters located in Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Louisiana, Mississippi, Missouri, and Tennessee.  Their slogan is “Care Today-Character Tomorrow”.
