Mayor Karen Best declares April 1-7 as "Junior Auxiliary of Taney Week"
In conjunction with the JA week for the National Association of Junior Auxiliaries, Mayor Karen Best of Branson, MO, proclaimed April 1-7, 2018, to be Junior Auxiliary of Taney County Week.
Children and Families, Hands-on Service Projects, Servant Leadership--That’s what your local Junior Auxiliary Chapter is all about!
Junior Auxiliary members brighten a child’s day by providing stuffed animals for kids in trauma, provide Christmas gifts for children who might otherwise go without, replenish school supplies in January for Eastern Taney County schools, furnish prom dresses and other accessories for girls who wouldn’t otherwise be able to attend their proms, do weekly activities for children at the Women’s Crisis Center so their moms can attend counseling sessions, offer a Fitness Course Activity to students along with instruction in healthy nutrition, provide scholarships for each of the four high schools in Taney County, swap books at extended stay motels and provide homework help or enrichment activities for students living at those motels.
Junior Auxiliary impacts the future of a child. We care today and build character for tomorrow. Junior Auxiliary does more than make a difference. It changes lives! That’s the magic of JATC. More information about the organization and its projects is available at JATCMO.org.
Members raise money for these projects through one major event - a fun Trivia Challenge with dinner, live entertainment and a Silent Auction. This year the 18th Annual Trivia Challenge and Silent Auction will be held at the Radisson Hotel in Branson on April 14, 2018. Our theme is Sherlock Holmes “It’s Elementary, my Dear Watson!” Text Paula Eighmy at 417-294-1045 to purchase your Trivia tickets and support Junior Auxiliary projects.
Junior Auxiliary of Taney County was chartered by a group of caring, enthusiastic women in 1998 and continues to grow and thrive throughout Taney County. JATC is part of the National Association of Junior Auxiliaries (NAJA), a non-profit organization founded in 1941 with headquarters in Greenville, Mississippi. NAJA has more than 15,500 active, associate and life members in 95 chapters located in Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Louisiana, Mississippi, Missouri, and Tennessee. Their slogan is “Care Today-Character Tomorrow”.
