The applications available include four $1,000 non-renewable awards, one for each of the four high schools in Taney County: Bradleyville, Branson, Forsyth, and Hollister. These scholarships are awarded on the basis of demonstrated initiative and commitment to community volunteer activities.
Another scholarship available is the $1,000 Joan Anderson Memorial Scholarship. JATC provides $500 and Joan’s family matches for a total of $1,000. This scholarship is dedicated to students who plan on pursuing a career in Business, IT, or Accounting.
The last scholarship is called the ScholarCare Award, and it is a $1,000 scholarship, renewable annually based on satisfactory college achievement. In addition to the monetary award, JATC members send notes, texts, emails, and small gifts from August through April of the school year. This scholarship is designed to provide support and encouragement to a student who may be experiencing his/her first time away from home. Selection of the student is based on the applicants’ essays demonstrating their need for continuing support.
