JATC Celebrates Junior Auxiliary Week
The Junior Auxiliary of Taney County was honored by several municipalities during National Junior Auxiliary week, which took place April 7-13, 2024.
The JATC received proclamations from three cities in Taney County for the week. The city of Branson (Mayor Larry Milton), city of Hollister (Mayor Lamar Patton), and city of Forsyth (Mayor Missi Hesketh) presented members of JATC with proclamations.
“Each year we celebrate JA week and reach out to the community to increase awareness of Junior Auxiliary and the work we do with our service projects.” JATC President Colleen Neill stated in an email. “This year we provided a small token of our appreciation to our sustaining members, Doug Baker (State Farm Insurance), Ryan Holmes (Mr. G’s Chicago Pizza and Pub), and Paul Norman (Binswanger Glass) with a candy and snack basket.”
JATC is a chapter the National Association of Junior Auxiliaries. Its mission is dedicated to improving the lives of children in Taney County, MO.
“Our projects are designed to fulfill the virtues of charity, youth, health, community service, and leadership in members and those we serve.” Neill stated.
JATC was established in 1997 by a group of women who wanted make a difference in the lives of local children. In 1998 the group was recognized by the Internal Revenue Service as a 501 c (3) organization eligible to receive tax deductible donations. JATC has continued to grown and thrive. Approximately 50 members annually contribute more than 4,000 volunteer hours and thousands of dollars as they strive to improve the mental, physical, social, and emotional well-being of children and families in Taney County.
