A Note from JATC's President

It is hard to believe that it is already December!   But as we enter the second half of our program year, I would like to take a moment to reflect on our accomplishments so far. For starters, we’ve launched this website, making it easy for community members to learn about JATC, follow our efforts and find ways to help support our work.  In addition, we’ve diversified our fundraising efforts, volunteering at Legends of Golf and joining Schwan’s Cares which in turn enables us to increase our efforts in projects in the community.  We’ve launched the weekly Homework Helpers, sharing books and offering after-school tutoring to children living in one of Branson’s many extended-stay motels.  We’ve increased our engagement with the Women’s Crisis Center, continuing to care for one of the cottages and helping to sort and maintain order in their donations room.  And we’ve planned the expansion of our Santa’s Gift House project to include an event in Forsyth to allow for greater access to children living in the northeastern parts of Taney County.

Beyond this, we have recently recruited thirteen new members who have embarked on a six-month process of learning about JATC and, we hope, joining as active members in April.

We are proud to be part of an organization that encourages women of all ages to step forward to improve the lives of the children in our community. We are working more than ever before to increase awareness of children in need and the benefits of caring today to create character tomorrow.
