Junior Auxiliary of Taney County Sponsors Local Food Drive

Junior Auxiliary of Taney County (JATC) is sponsoring a Drive Through Food Drive for Salvation Army located at 1114 Stanley Ave, on Saturday, September 26th from 9am-12pm.  Please support us in our quest to help families in need in our community. You don't even have to get out of the car! JATC ladies will be in the parking lot at Salvation Army to gather the donations and fill the Salvation Army Food Pantry. Items needed are canned fruits, canned vegetables, or tuna, and dried goods such as rice, pasta, beans, and cereals.  Monetary donations will also be accepted.

JATC members felt this Food Drive was necessary because of the challenges COVID has brought to many of our families in Taney County, and that this project fits in with our slogan of "Caring Hearts, Helping Hands, Changing Lives!"

Other service projects that JATC members provide to the community include Santa’s Gift House; College Scholarships for a senior at all four Taney County public high schools; ScholarCare Awards for students with special needs; Tender Critters (stuffed animals for children in trauma); “Empowering the Little Dreamers” at the Crisis Center of Taney County; School Supplies “refreshment” in January for elementary schools; and Book Swaps for children who live in extended-stay motels.

More information about our organization may be found on the Junior Auxiliary website JATCMO.ORG,  Junior Auxiliary of Taney County Facebook page, or via email at jatcmo@gmail.com.

JATC is more than a nonprofit organization, it’s a group of women united by a single cause and dedicated to helping the children and families of Taney County. That’s the magic of JATC. It was chartered by a group of caring, enthusiastic women in 1998 and continues to grow and thrive throughout Taney County. Approximately 50 members annually contribute more than 4,000 volunteer hours as they strive to improve the mental, physical, social and emotional well-being of children in Taney County.

JATC is part of the National Association of Junior Auxiliaries (NAJA), a non-profit organization founded in 1941 with headquarters in Greenville, Mississippi. NAJA has more than 15,500 active, associate and life members in 100 chapters located in Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, Missouri, and Tennessee.
