Junior Auxiliary Holds 15th Annual Santa's Gift House

Junior Auxiliary of Taney County held their 15th Annual Santa’s Gift House on Saturday, December 14, 2024 at the Branson Tri-Lakes News Community Room at 200 Industrial Park Dr in Hollister, Mo from 9 am - noon. Approximately 225 children were in attendance along with Santa, Mrs. Claus, and Rudolph. The character Barbie (Jaylene Martin from As You Wish Character Entertainment) was also there. But, as always the kids were the stars of the event with smiles that lit up their faces when they found the perfect gift for mom, dad, grandparents, siblings, or teachers.

Each child was allowed to purchase up to four gifts at a nominal price of 50 cents each. There was hot chocolate and treats when they finished the shopping and a visit with Santa and Mrs. Claus who gave them all a book and a candy cane.

We had great comments from the kids this year. One little girl made us laugh when she said “It’s really hard to buy a gift for mom at her age.” Another little boy, Ozzie, had a very serious intent look on his face when he told Santa what he really wanted was a pair of Rainbow Socks. And a favorite was when Quentin saw Rudolph come through the door and then commented “Did you Rudolph come out that door? I wonder if there are any other reindeer in there?”

On Wednesday, December 18, we took Santa’s Gift House to Bradleyville Elementary School where we had 110 shopper in grade pre-K through 6th grade. That’s a total of approximately 335 kids for the 2024 Santa’s Gift House Project.

Special thanks to all our sponsors for this year which include White River Valley Trust, Lazy Valley Resort, Branson Tri-Lakes News, As You Wish Character Entertainment, Lowe’s, Binswanger Glass, Billy Gail’s Restaurant, Crazy Critter Crafts, and one community member who wished to remain anonymous with his $500 donation for this project.

It was a great success and lots of fun for the children and the JATC Elves. See you all next year.
