What's Up with JATC?
I know you were sitting there sipping your tea or coffee this morning and wondering what JATC is up to this coming month.
We ladies in the blue aprons are busy with several projects:
School supplies have been collected or purchased and are being organized to be delivered to some of the smaller elementary schools in our county: Bradleyville, Mark Twain, and Taneyville.
Tender Critters will be starting a new drive on February 1 to collect new stuffed animals for children who are brought to the emergency room and/or admitted to Cox Branson Hospital.
Prom dresses, accessories, and make up have been purchased so high school girls who might not otherwise have an opportunity to enjoy their prom may attend and feel like princesses while doing so.
Valentine’s and St. Patrick’s Day decorations and art supplies are piling up to donate to our Heart of the Arts projects. These supplies go to Developmental Connections, an agency serving adults with disabilities.
And, of course, Homework Helpers is still busy helping children with homework, reading to them, and providing snacks at two extended stay hotels in the Branson area. Also, volunteers are providing labor and material support for our adopted cottage at the Women’s Crisis Center of Taney County.
That’s just what we have going on in February. Stay tuned for more projects in March and April and a “fun” event in April where we “Rock Around the Clock” while raising funds to support all these projects.
